Bookkeeper / Office Support
MARKET GROUP VENTURES INC., a well established multinational company which has been in business for over 30 years is looking for a Bookkeeper/Office Support for our Shawnigan Lake office.
The ideal candidate for this role will possess:
- 3+ years of accounting experience,
- Postsecondary education, preferably in Accounting,
- Quick Books Enterprise Multi-currency experience an asset,
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment and
- Excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities include:
- Bookkeeping A/R and A/P accounts and all accounting daily tasks.
- Bank and Account reconciliations
- Journal/adjusting entries
- Inventory adjustments and some inventory receiving
- Government and HST filing
- Assist with year-end work
- Participate in the daily activity of our office, filing, order process, reception etc as required to cover vacation time
The bookkeeper is an integral part of the finance team. We require someone with a strong work ethic who can treat co-workers/clients with respect and get along in a small/medium sized office environment.

Our product line of food specific lighting and energy saving night covers conserve energy, protect & prolong the shelf life of perishable items and reduce overall operating costs. The Position:
We are currently seeking a highly qualified individual to fill the position of Sales and Marketing Manager located in the Shawnigan Lake, BC office.
Summary:
The Sales and Marketing Manager will be responsible for the performance and results of the sales and marketing team. This individual will be required to manage our existing growth strategies as well as plan, innovate, and successfully implement new strategies for scalable growth.
The general success of this position will be measured against the successful sales growth in all levels of product sales, increased retention, and the development of a performing sales, marketing and service team. The individual will be required to liaise closely with other departments to ensure successful implementation and integration of sales plan within the various operations functions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, recommend, and implement strategic sales plans and forecasts that capitalize on market segments that support product sales, and new product offerings.
- Prepare and monitor the sales and marketing budget and review costs to determine effectiveness.
- Establish sales performance goals and benchmarks for sales, marketing and retention team.
- Define and implement marketing strategies for geographic regions and monitor results monthly, taking corrective action when required.
- Align and integrate marketing and sales programs to support membership and product growth.
- Ensure successful planning and implementation of growth strategies by managing the day-to-day operations of the sales, marketing and retention team.
- Implement training programs for staff, measure team and individual performance, and provide ongoing training, coaching and support.
- Liaises with the owner and accounting department to facilitate smooth day-to-day operations including the distribution of products to our customers.
- Generate and analyze sales reports from the CRM system, monitor customer preferences, and generate opportunities to increase revenues from existing customers.
- Conducts market research, surveys and analysis to determine viability of new products and services.
- Assist in determining pricing schedules and discount rates.
- Provide input of content and brand look of all collateral, advertising, and website materials to ensure consistency, professionalism, and accuracy of message and brand.
- Establish and maintain close personal contact and rapport with top tier customers.
- Establish protocol to resolve member problems and complaints regarding sales and service.
Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
- A proven track record of success in B2C and B2B sales and marketing strategies
- Experience and track record of success in the area of the distributor based marketing in the lighting or supermarket fields.
- Post-secondary education and continuing education in sales, marketing, or related discipline
- Strong understanding of branding principles, communications, product/program design, and public relations
- Ability to function in a entrepreneurial environment
- Track record of forging strong internal and external relationships
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and computer skills
- High degree of initiative with a track record of delivering results
- Consultative/roll up your sleeves approach where no task is too big or too small
- Willing to travel, with the knowledge to get out and sell
- A fundamental understanding of the lighting industry and a genuine interest and willingness to learn more.

SALES REPRESENTATIVE – USA
The responsibilities of the Sales Representative will be to report to the General Manager and act as a liaison with customers, reps and distributors in the USA.
The ideal candidate works well independently and within a team. Strong attention to detail and well developed communication skills and organization is a must. This position is best suited to a multi-tasker who is computer literate with programs such as Maximizer, Power Point, Word, Excel and Adobe PDF. You will possess excellent letter writing skills and be self-motivated with initiative and be willing to travel as required.
You need to be conscientious and a self-starter and are looking for a long term career with a company that is a leader in its industry.
Responsibilities:
- Become well versed in Products, including product history, technical specifications, installation procedures, mechanical workings etc.
- Respond to all communications from customers, reps, and distributors.
- Be able to travel and attend trade shows and are familiar with distributor networks,
- Correlate, validate and process all incoming orders in accordance to policies and procedures,
- Communicate order information or changes to the appropriate department to ensure the product is to customer’s specifications and shipped or delivered on time.
- Communicate changes in requirements to the Customer.
- Coordinate shipments with the freight forwarder to ensure proper arrival and departure, inspections and preparation of export and customer documents.
- Take ownership of new projects either from initial contact made through the Regional Manager or directly from the potential customer base.
- Promote teamwork, cooperation, and effective communication within the department and Company.
- Perform duties and responsibilities in a manner compliant with Company standards.
- Schedule and prepare information for meetings and travel.
- Prepare and assemble marketing packages for Trade shows and meetings.
- Monthly reporting on customer orders, meetings, deliverables. Utilize CRM package to update customers information.
Qualifications:
- High School education, post-secondary education and or equivalent experience
- Technical background an asset, especially in refrigeration, lighting or supermarket industry
- Proven track record in sales and service would be preferred
- Knowledge of MS office applications and CRM programs
- Excellent inter-personal skills, self-motivated, able to work under minimum supervision
- Must be highly organized, able to meet strict deadlines
- Proven experience in sales business, preferably within the
- Passport, valid drivers licence, and usable credit card a must.
